Rebecca Harper was born in London in 1989 where she still currently lives and works.

Her often large-scale paintings, underpinned by intense drawing, demonstrate a mode of reconstructing visual appearances; events, beliefs, dreams, memory and mediated imagery, whereby seamless, sometimes fictional fragmentations are rearranged and presented as plausible happenings.

Looking heavily towards the observation of the theatre of life, a triangle of conflicts; between how ones mind internalizes, body language are presented, and others perceive. She looks behind the scenes at the psychology of characters, social dynamics, and human behaviours within the space that is occupied. Her observations, drawn from life, are often intimate, thus allowing her specific access to her subject; she seizes moments with insight and records from her memory.

Harper’s first solo exhibition will launch our 2019 exhibition schedule. Further information will be released in due course.
