David Kim Whittaker Painting Achieves Record Price in Auction

David Whittaker's monumental painting 'Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten)' achieved a record price at Phillips 20th Century and Contemporary Auction which took place in London on March 9th, 2018. 

The painting smashed the estimate of £30 000- £40 000 finally achieving £81 250. This is further indication of the rapidly growing acclaim of Whittaker's idiosyncratic metaphysical portraits about the universal human condition.
