ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS WORK

“The great mother that nurtures her young sprouts like a tree towards the heavens, she comes as a symbol of mother earth and she holds the explosion in her spirit as a reminder of her force. Her face shows the reflection of a man, a cowboy from the west who has lost all hope and looks to her for answers, much like many of us do throughout our life. The snake is being called down by the snake-charmer, meeting its match.. the eagles, this can be seen as the forces we should embrace. The snake is the sign of fertility, rebirth and renewal as the eagle is showing us a higher perspective, manifestation and sexual power. Below them is the great buffalo hunt, the hunting and processing of the bison became amongst the most important ways for Great Plains Amerindian cultures to pass on their knowledge, prayers, and traditions. The bison was so integral to Amerindian life that many societies treated bison as a spiritual relative of their people. This is a reminder to us all on how we need to be connected both physically and spiritually to the animals and the land as to nurture the cycle is a part of nurturing ourselves. Above is a man experiencing a moment of joy, the dogs licking his face are allowing us to see that we don’t need to take life so seriously, to be present and find happiness in the small things. The dartboard on his head is targeting how we tend to focus on what the mind is saying and not enough on what the spirit is saying. Above him is the story of Moses talking to God as the burning bush, this is a reflection on being connected to a higher power, something that already exists within us but also will reveal itself in outward forms as a reminder of the direction we should take. The tigers battling are the opposing forces we can experience within, it is in that which we seek balance. The car escaping on fire is the act of fleeing from one’s problems, when we ignore our inner voice and are numbing the pain, but with the two twins worshiping the heart is how we will always come back to love and the balance will be found. The dove flying is God’s presence watching over as the cycle goes around and around. The heaven within is home sweet home.”
