Marija Rinkevičiūtė is a painter and musician living and working in Vilnius, Lithuania. Her specific interest lies in the phenomena of colour, light, emotional experience and intuition. Rinkevičiūtė’s process leads to abstract expression as a vehicle to poetically allude to the ephemerality of memory. She finds colour relativity, elusiveness and the impact on human psychology or particular fascination. “A painting, to me, is a complex organism that is not a coloured “facade”, but rather a set of experiences of particular space and time.”

Rinkevičiūtė received her BA degree in monumental art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with time spent at the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions internationally
